Cruisin’ Fer Critters Benefit Run

VFW Hall
Wetumpka, AL
August 20, 2005

The 3rd Annual Cruisin’ Fer Critters Benefit Run was a huge success despite the 97degree heat! The ride raised several thousand dollars for the Elmore County Humane Shelter. The Predators Motorcycle Association has adopted the Shelter for its fundraising efforts and with the support of VFW Post 4572 and numerous community businesses this ride will continue its success each year. The shelter raffled off a 2005 Silverado pick-up truck won by Ms. Camilla Gibson of Montgomery, AL.

The ride route took the 95 bikers from Wetumpka, to Alexander City, to Dadeville, Walnut Hill, Tallassee and back to Wetumpka. The ride had some beautiful views as we rode completely around Lake Martin. There were several outside bikers’ games such as the Slow Race and Balloon Toss. Inside the air conditioned VFW Hall was food, cold drinks, the band “Cruisin’”, dancing, a pool table, plenty of door prizes AND more games! Over 150 people participated at this event.

The first riders left at 2:00 PM and the last rider was back by 5:00 PM. Inside or out, everyone had fun. The Predators and the Shelter look for next year to be even better.
